General Bastard

General Bastard
Started originaly in Jan 2007 in Detroit Michigan as a One Man Band. General Bastard comes out adorned in Desert Cammoflauge, army helmet and a mexican wrestling mask. Since then member have been added with the longest standing being Corporal Bastard who not only plays bass but is also The General's real life son. Together they two toured the United States as a duo pulling their pre recorded drum tracks from a lap top. In August 2008 The duo added drummer Rev. Phil who was previouly in the Detroit Oi band The Rattfinks.

With a huge sense of humour General Bastard has never taken anything too seriously. The whole point of the whole act as he would say is to be as ridiculous as possible. But while there is a shade of humour twinged intro every bit of the band the amount of talent is un deniable. The General himself might just be the most under rated guitarist in the world right now. Weaving in and out styles from shredding metal licks to surf rock to country blazed twangs The General can pull out tricks most guitairsts only dream of attemtping. Whether it being playing witrh his fret hand over the neck of the guitar or using his pick hand to tap arpeggios that Steve Vai would be envious of. But that is not to say that they music was self indulgent technical for the sake of being technical music. Most of the songs themselves are not of the complicated variety and not all contain guitar solos. But when they they are blazing. The songs weave in and out of styles with a common theme being Televison Theme songs. Every show with filled with a certain amount of classic tv thrown into the mix. Covering such notable songs as Laverne & Shirley, Facts of Life, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Theme, The Odd Couple, Peter Gunn a version of Gilligans Island that fnds the band playing Black Sabbath's Sypmtom of the Universe while singing the Gilligan theme's lyrics.
The band has one Self released CD "The War on Sissy Rock" with another rumored to be on the way soon. General Bastard alos stars and wrote the theme song for the Troma Movie "ThanksKilling"(2009 release).
